WHO ARE WE?

Bir Music Festival is India’s only woman owned music festival and the largest original music and art platform in Himachal Pradesh accredited by the Tourism Ministry Of Himachal Pradesh. 

Music and entertainment are the most emerging trends today and being one of the first movers in the industry gives us the advantage of experimenting and exploring. With this, we have become the only festival in India to host completely original music in live format. The festival stands strong as a sustainable entity with negligible carbon footprint. 

As a Bo-annually celebrated original music and art festival, we hold a unique position and proposition for emerging original artists. We have successfully hosted 11 seasons so far and staged over 450 original musicians for 11,000+ live audiences to reach over 22 million audience digitally. 

With an aim to host over 100 original emerging artists in 2025, we are beginning a new voyage this year. 

THE TEAM AT BIR MUSIC FESTIVAL

The team of Bir Music Festival is headed by Ms. Alakhananda Sharma. The team is a group of talented individuals who work towards developing an IP on an international level. We have just completed 4 years of our establishment and are expanding now. 

Therefore, we are looking to grow the most valued resources – Our team. The following profiles are open for freshers to join. Startups need new brains and fresh thoughts. So, if you have the drive to join a startup, we extend a hand to join us.

Work Culture At Bir Music Festival

Bir Music Festival is a sustainable music and art festival retreat in the mountains. So when the world is struggling to only fight for benefits like ‘work life balance’, ‘ health and work balance’, ‘happy work culture’ and ‘ fun at work’; we are living it everyday. 

Our team lives on a holiday in a holiday land all year round. Our travel trips are in backpacker hostels. Daily music jams, treks, art and craft is a part of our work lives. 

Hierarchy is a definite part of our team but it is only to a healthy level. Living in the mountains and building a new circle for work and fun both makes our team closely knit, strongly bonded and more energetic and creative at work.

Small exercises like living together, having meals together makes us friends over colleagues. This work culture makes us the most unique team to work with. Our team creates no bars for any age, gender or personality of people. All age groups work together, live together. People in various facets of life stay and work together which creates a wonderful and healthy atmosphere here at Bir Music Festival world. 

However, work needs discipline and rules and so we have our own set of work policies:

Our Work Policies

  1. Our work is majorly centered and timed around the two festival seasons of the year. So, our peak months of work are April- June and October-December
  2. Being in the entertainment industry, we need to work on the days the rest of the world is rejoicing. So Sunday is our work day. Our weekly off is Tuesday. 
  3. We have a six day work week because we know work is more fun here.
  4. Our meetings are also our off-sites and visiting more events and music festivals is a part of our work therefore, when in Bir, we have corporate work timings of 9:00 am -7:00 pm
  5. Living together is a part of our work culture and therefore, we mandate it.

Social Media Intern

Bir Music Festival team is looking for creative minds to join the social media team and take the coming season to great heights together.

What we expect from the social media intern

The social media intern should be a proactive fast learner who has the capability and drive to quickly adapt to changing trends and demands of the digital world. 

  1. Should be ready work in a start-up environment
  2. Should be ready to move to the mountains to work. 
  3. He/She should be well-versed with the five basic social media platform techniques and terminologies- Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, Youtube
  4. Should have the basic knowledge of paid ads on the above mentioned platforms
  5. Should have an understanding of content writing
  6. Should know the basics of graphic design 
  7. Should have the basic knowledge of one of the platforms – Adobe/ Canva/ VN/ FCP
  8. Should have the knowledge of social media marketing and measurement tools
  9. Should be a fast learner
  10. Should be team player
  11. Discipline is a must 
  12. Should have a thorough knowledge about social media PR
  13. Should have a good network and knowledge of influencer marketing
  14. Should be a good communicator and negotiator
  15. Should be ready to work in a team and take up any additional responsibilities to make the festival better

Our internship program is for 8 weeks and involves real-time work for the twelfth season of Bir Music Festival. The team shall not leverage upon the seriousness of work here. Do not apply in case only a certificate matters to you.

Digital Marketing Intern

What we expect from the digital marketing intern

This is not a Social Media marketing job. Read the job description and KRAs carefully before applying. 

Bir Music Festival is looking for techies and marketing minds to get into real digital marketing beyond social media. We are looking for people who understand the search engines, impact of content, websites and digital PR. The digital marketing intern should be a state of the art thinker and dedicated person who has the capability to learn and adapt quickly. The intern should have the below mentioned attributes and should be willing to work in a fast paced environment. 

  1. Should have completed/completing MBA in marketing from a known institute
  2. Should have an understanding of marketing terminologies and their basic implementation
  3. Should be ready work in a start-up environment
  4. Should be ready to move to the mountains to work. ( The internship is on-site and the music Festival is from Bir – Himachal pradesh)
  5. Should have the basic knowledge of SEO
  6. Should be good and content writing and editing 
  7. Should have a basic knowledge of digital PR
  8. Should understand the terminologies like guest blogging, white labelled content marketing, email marketing, affiliate marketing, backlinking and domain authority building
  9. Should have the knowledge of STP model
  10. Should be inclined towards music and its various genres

Production Interns

This internship is for beginners who have knowledge about event production and music production. The applicant should be versed with the event industry and should have basic knowledge about the domains in particular. 

We are looking to have interns who will assist us in the production management in the Bir Music Festival 12th season. Since this season also has an added project of Bir Music Studio, the production responsibility is essential and not limited to event production and so the applicants need to have music and technical production knowledge as well. The internship is for 8 weeks starting 

The following attributes are needed from a production Intern.

  1. The applicant should have a degree/diploma or equivalent into events/technical sound production/Sound and light engineering
  2. The applicant can either be a trained music technician or should have that experience for a minimum of 1 year
  3. The applicant should be a fast learner
  4. Should be a team player
  5. Should possess good communication and negotiation skills.
  6. Should a basic knowledge of vendor management
  7. Should be willing to travel for work

Digital Marketing executive

The marketing executive position with Bir Music festival is a full-time work opportunity in Himachal pradesh. We have only one position open in the profile. Following is the required profile, Job description and KRAs of the candidate. It is not a gender-bias role. Our founder is a woman.

Required Profile

As a music festival in the mountains,we are looking for a vibrant adapting personality to join us with full zest. 

The applying candidate 

  1. Must be a post-graduate in marketing from a recognised institute in India
  2. Must have at least 1 year of work experience into marketing 
  3. Must have understanding of events and festivals
  4. Must have a basic knowledge of music and Its genres
  5. Should be a team player

Attributes that will make you stand apart

  1. Managing the online reputation of the festival on all social media and search engine platforms 
  2. Maintaining the social hygiene of the festival 
  3. Curating content for all social media profiles
  4. Creating and Managing a network of bloggers and influencers for regular marketing and promotions of the the festival 
  5. Creating and updating content on the festival website regularly 
  6. Executing content marketing strategies effectively
  7. Working on SEO for the festival website 
  8. Curating and executing social media calendar every week for the social handles
  9. Making the visual content like reels, shorts, videos and posts for social media 
  10. Working on quantitative marketing targets 
  11. Overall managing the digital footprint of the festival 

Production Executive

The production executive is a technical profile in Bir Music Festival. It is a full-time role in Himachal Pradesh. The role involves travelling, multi-tasking, knowledge and understanding of technicalities of sound and light production, event production and network and knowledge of the emerging live music fraternity in India.

We are therefore looking at a highly motivated, quick, self-driven individual to join our team for this profile. It is not a gender-bias role. Our founder is a woman.

Required Profile 

To join us as a production executive, the candidate must

  1. Must be a postgraduate /graduate in music/sound engineering/ light engineering (B.E. or equivalent)
  2. Must have good knowledge of music, its genres, its technical production
  3. Must have worked for at least one year in technical fields of sound/light/events/production or in a music Studio or with a band
  4. Must have good communication skills
  5. Must be a fast learner and a team player

Attributes that will make you stand apart

KRAs Of The Selected Candidate

The production management of a music festival especially in a small village in the mountains leaving a negligible carbon footprint is a challenging task. We are looking for a team player who will create magic in the domain of music festival production to give India a new definition of music festivals.

Your responsibility areas as a production executive will be not limited to but as mentioned below:

  1. Close coordination with the artist manager every season and ensuring the technical sound and light requirements for the festival are met perfectly.
  2. Selecting, locking and closely coordinating with vendors to ensure perfect Production management in alignment with financials of the festival season
  3. Selecting, locking and coordinating with the decor team, ground production team and technical team for each season
  4. Coordinating with the operations team for all arrangements of the artists, vendors, management team.
  5. Ensuring the perfect coordination beyond the above mentioned for a perfect production management
